NachtPulse is intended for makers, initiatives, organizations and locations that contribute with innovative ideas to a lively, inclusive and diverse nightlife in the city. The fund is in line with the ambition of the Nijmegen Night Vision, which aims for a future-proof and diverse nightlife. NachtPulse focuses on stimulating experimentation and supporting young talent and new initiatives.
Applicants can choose from two schemes:
- Make the night: for (night) makers and young initiatives who want to realize a new project
- Offer a stage: for organizations and venues that want to provide space for experimentation and new audiences
A maximum of €3,000 per project is available for creators and a maximum of €2,000 for organizations and locations. A one-time total budget of € 50,000 is available in 2025 in this first application round.
Launch on Sept. 17
Stichting NBN(Stichting Nachtburgemeester Nijmegen) is organizing a Promoters' Consultation on September 17, 2025 for event organizers who contribute to the supply of night events in Nijmegen. Organizers, creators and others involved in Nijmegen's night culture will meet here. During this evening Cultuur Academy and the municipality of Nijmegen will explain the new subsidy scheme. The rules, the assessment criteria and the content of both schemes will be discussed in detail. Visitors will get insight into the possibilities for submitting an application and can ask questions directly.
The consultation will take place on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 19:30 to 21:00 in De nieuwe Hubert on the Winselingseweg 47 in Nijmegen. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to talk afterwards during a drink until 22:00.

The first night culture policy
With NachtPulse, Nijmegen is the first city in the eastern Netherlands to make concrete policies for night culture. The scheme supports the pursuit of a healthy night balance in the city - in which cultural, social and economic values are recognized. The scheme is coordinated by Cultuur Academy.
Cultuur Academy actively supports applicants with consultation hours, writing sessions and advice. There is extra attention for makers without an extensive network or experience, so that they too can submit their ideas promisingly. With this, Cultuur Academy fulfills an important role as a connecting and facilitating party within the Nijmegen cultural infrastructure.
