Training: Inclusive Collaboration in Practice
€195 (including VAT) per person
The Transformation Hall, 94-15 Van Oldenbarneveldtstraat, Arnhem
Make room for diversity and strengthen collaboration within your organization.
Within cultural organizations, people from diverse backgrounds, with different perspectives and sensitivities, work together. While this diversity can be enriching, in practice it can also lead to misunderstandings, tension, and situations in which people do not always feel heard or safe enough to speak up.
In this two-day training, you’ll explore how people interact within an organization and how you can make collaboration more accessible and inclusive, without it becoming too heavy or theoretical. The training offers an accessible, hands-on approach to inclusion, applied to everyday interactions, collaboration, and communication in the workplace.
For whom
For employees of cultural organizations who want to reflect on how they collaborate and communicate, and who want to actively contribute to an inclusive work environment that embraces diversity.
After training
- Can you clearly explain what inclusion means in an organizational context?
- Can you clearly see how differences and backgrounds influence collaboration?
- You'll gain a better understanding of why misunderstandings and tensions arise.
- Apply these practical tips to make collaboration more mindful and inclusive.
- Let the experiences of your colleagues in the industry inspire you.
Program
Session 1 | Inclusion and Collaboration in Organizations
We’ll start with a clear and accessible introduction to the concept of inclusion: what does inclusion actually mean in your day-to-day work? You’ll discover how differences manifest in collaboration and communication, and why people sometimes hold back their opinions, disengage, or misunderstand one another. Through practical exercises, you’ll become aware of your own assumptions and interactions, and you’ll learn the crucial role that safety and trust play in your team’s performance. This session lays the foundation for conscious and respectful collaboration.
Session 2 | Inclusive Collaboration in Practice
You’ll learn how to navigate differences and intercultural dynamics within your team, even when things get tense or friction arises. We’ll discuss how to keep collaboration inclusive and ensure conversations remain open and constructive, especially when there’s friction. Through interactive activities, you’ll share experiences and learn from real-world scenarios, enabling you to develop insights and skills you can apply immediately.
Session 3 | Facilitated Peer Review (six weeks later)
After six weeks, we’ll meet again to reflect on your experiences. This peer review session provides an opportunity to share questions with one another and refine strategies together. In this way, peer review allows you to test your own experiences and ideas and further deepen your insights. What have you put into practice? What worked well, and what didn’t? This is how you ensure lasting change and growth within your organization. The peer review session is facilitated by an experienced peer review facilitator from Cultuur Academy.
