Cultuur Academy on tour
Do you work in the arts or culture sector and want to develop? Then sign up for one of the five free meetings of Cultuur Academy on tour!
Under the heading 'Cultuur Academy on tour', we are organizing free meetings on March 23, March 30, April 6, April 13 and April 20 to engage with cultural professionals about their training needs and introduce them to the existing program at Cultuur Academy.
Tour dates & registration
As of March 2023, Cultuur Academy toured the GMR municipalities of Berg and Dal, Beuningen, Doesburg, Druten, Duiven, Heumen, Lingewaard, Overbetuwe, Renkum, Rheden Rozendaal, Westervoort, Wijchen and Zevenaar.
Program
Each meeting consists of roundtable discussions, a Grant Consultation and one of the workshops.
Roundtable discussions
Have a conversation with Cultuur Academy and fellow cultural professionals in your area. We talk about: how do you want to develop? What topics are important to you? What form of learning works for you? What training opportunities do you currently have and do you use them? Why or why not? Together we map out what is already available, what is still needed and how we can best offer it. This way you have a direct influence on the training offer for culture professionals in our region.
Grant Consultation
During the Grant Consultation you can ask all questions about grant funding for your project to Esther Dikkers, director of Cultuur Academy. Esther has extensive experience in applying for grants and funds. She will help you decide which grant or fund is best suited for your project and will give you tips on how to write a good application.
Workshop - How do you get your target audience to choose you?
Suppose you start an ice cream store, what flavors will you sell? And do you want your customers to choose a flavor, or do you want them to trust you to put together the right ice cream for them? In one hour, together with Moeps Stellingwerf (senior marketer at Musis & Stadstheater Arnhem) you will explore who you are (or your organization is), who your target group is and how you win their trust. After this hour you will have a short and concise marketing plan that you can build on yourself.
Workshop - Broaden your audience
As an organization (or creator) you want to attract a more diverse audience, but where do you start? What realistic goals can you set for yourself and what is the first step you can take tomorrow? Together with Shayne McCreadie of Culture Shifters you will work with concrete, inspiring examples. After this workshop you will know what you can do tomorrow to start broadening your audience.
About the project
The Groene Metropoolregio is a collaboration between eighteen municipalities: Arnhem, Berg en Dal, Beuningen, Doesburg, Druten, Duiven, Heumen, Lingewaard, Montferland, Mook and Middelaar, Nijmegen, Overbetuwe, Renkum, Rheden, Rozendaal, Westervoort, Wijchen and Zevenaar. These municipalities are working together on the direction of the region.
To strengthen the cultural infrastructure in the GMR, the Province of Gelderland has provided 1.3 million euros. For this purpose, the Transformation Proposal Cultural Region was made. This proposal describes five action lines. One of these action lines is: training personnel in order to further professionalize cultural organizations. And this is about to start! That is why the GMR commissioned Cultuur Academy to map the training needs among cultural professionals in the region and to provide insight into what the region has to offer in terms of training.

Groeispurt X Four Day Celebrations
Every year Nijmegen prepares for the Four-Day Festivities with excitement: the entire city center is transformed into an event site and the possibilities seem endless. Everyone walking in the city during the build-up week feels the jitters, a pleasant lull before the storm. This year, Vierdaagsefeesten en Groeispurt is once again asking artists from the city to capture that energy and turn it into art.

Get involved in governance in the cultural sector!
Cultuur Academy started a training program for young people with managerial ambitions in season 24/25, commissioned by the municipality of Nijmegen and Arnhem. The participants are enthusiastic young people who would like to participate in the cultural sector. They learn everything it takes to be a good manager: from knowledge of finance to asking the right questions and media training.
