Training - Reduce your digital footprint

Learn simple and sustainable solutions to get started right away.

Every click, upload or email contributes to your digital footprint; the environmental impact created by your online activities. Think stored emails, photos in the cloud and unused apps. All data that guzzle energy and run on servers, often without you noticing. These servers use huge amounts of resources and energy. The good news? You can do something about it. This training will give you practical tools to be aware and energy efficient with internet and cloud storage.

For whom

Do you use the Internet? Then this training is for you! Whether you're an avid streamer, receive hundreds of emails a day, or just want to be more aware of technology: everyone can contribute to a more sustainable digital world. No technical knowledge is required.

After training:

  • Have a clear understanding of the environmental impact of your online activities;
  • Know how to perform a digital detox and bring order to your digital chaos;
  • Can you make conscious choices to make your online life more sustainable;
  • Apply the principle "a better environment begins with yourself" effectively.

Program

The training consists of two interactive meetings.

Meeting 1: Insight and Action Plan

During the first evening the focus is on knowledge and awareness. You will discover what impact your online behavior has by looking at how you yourself organize your digital (working) life. You will learn how emails, social media and cloud storage contribute to your digital footprint, but most importantly: what you can do about it. We focus on digital sustainability in the broad sense, always preserving functionality. Sustainability should not come at the expense of usability and efficiency of digital assets. At the end of this meeting there will be plenty of room for questions, so you can confidently get started with your personal action plan.

Meeting 2: Evaluation and deepening

The second meeting will take place three weeks later. During this evening, the focus is on exchanging digital detox experiences. What steps have you taken in the past few weeks? What went easily and what did you run into? Together we will find solutions and lay the foundation for lasting digital sustainability. Of course there is again room for questions and advice, so you can continue to improve your digital sustainability in the future.
