Workshop Negotiating with Guts

Negotiate with confidence: without stress and with results.

Whether you are just starting out as a creator, organizer, or in another role within the cultural sector, negotiation is part of the job. But even if you have been working in the field for a number of years, negotiating can still feel daunting. How do you establish your value without exaggerating? And how do you ensure that you come out of such a conversation with a result you are happy with? In this workshop, you will learn step by step how to stand up for what you need with confidence and courage.

For whom.

This workshop is for anyone in the cultural sector who wants to become a stronger negotiator. Whether you are just starting out or have been in the business for years, you will gain practical insights and techniques that you can use right away.

After this workshop

• Do you know what communication styles exist in negotiation and how to respond to them?
• Know what your personality and emotions do in a negotiation, and how you can use them without losing yourself.
• Know what the dos are in a negotiation and how to maneuver yourself out of a difficult situation.
• Do you know how to use a common goal to strengthen cooperation and achieve better negotiation results?

Program

In this workshop, we will work with practical examples, role-plays, exercises, and theory. You will learn to look beyond "winning or losing" and build a lasting relationship with your conversation partner. After a brief theoretical introduction, you will work on a practical case study, practice with realistic situations, and receive targeted feedback from both the trainer and your fellow participants.

About the trainer

This workshop is provided by Bilal Bachir on behalf of Kunstenbond, the interest group for everyone working in the cultural and creative sector.
Bilal is an all-round performer with a background in breakdancing, urban dance, classical and modern dance, and has performed internationally as an aerial acrobat and with the National Theater. Since 2018, he has been working within the Kunstenbond to promote the rights of performers. Thanks to his experience as both a creator and an advocate, he knows exactly what challenges you encounter when negotiating and helps participants to sit at the table with confidence and strategy.
