The Springboard: A Small Investment, A Big Step
Are you an emerging artist in Arnhem looking to take your first step toward starting your own cultural business? Starting August 17, 2026, you can apply for the Springplank, a new program from Cultuur Academy.
The Springplank is not a project grant, but a targeted, long-term investment in your professional practice. This could include renting a recording studio or rehearsal space, purchasing materials or equipment to experiment with, hiring a professional to mentor you, or hiring a photographer for your portfolio. You can apply for up to €500 (including VAT) to cover the actual costs of a product or service.
For whom.
De Springplank is for creators from all disciplines who live in Arnhem. The program targets two groups: creators who are just starting out and aspire to become professional creators, and creators who already have an independent professional practice (for up to 8 years) and want to invest specifically in their further development.
How does it work?
Applying is quick and hassle-free. You fill out a basic form with your personal and financial information, and then answer a few short questions in writing via the form or in a video pitch of no more than 5 minutes. You’ll also submit a proposal, a portfolio, or a testimonial. You’ll hear within two weeks whether your application has been approved.
