Are you a budding creator looking to take your first steps toward starting your own cultural business? Springplank gives you a small but meaningful boost. It’s not a project grant, but a targeted, long-term investment in your creative practice. Think of renting a recording studio or rehearsal space, purchasing materials or equipment to try new things, hiring a professional to mentor you or a photographer to document your work, or establishing a nonprofit organization. You can apply for up to €500 to cover the actual costs of a product or service. If the total costs exceed €500, you may apply for the full €500 as a contribution toward the purchase. Please note: the amount you can apply for includes VAT. Are you required to pay VAT? In that case, we’ll base our calculation on the amount excluding VAT from the submitted quote, since you can claim the VAT back yourself.

Application Process

Applying is quick and hassle-free. You have two options:

• Online form — Answer a few short questions about your reason for purchasing and the expected impact on your artistic practice.
• Video Pitch — Would you rather speak than write? Submit a video of up to 5 minutes in which you answer the same questions.

In both cases, you first fill out the required basic form with your personal and financial information.

ReviewYour application will be reviewed by the coordinator. The focus is not on artistic quality, but on your motivation for purchasing the product or service. So we’ll mainly be looking at why this purchase is important to you as a creator.

We aim to respond within two weeks. You will receive the results by email. Because we want to keep the barrier to entry as low as possible, we do not provide detailed feedback, and it is not possible to appeal the results.
