Ervaring met Groeispurt: Underground Theatre - Uitzicht op Keizer Karel

Underground Theatre is an independent Nijmegen theater company that provides a platform for young, ambitious artists. The company, founded by Grace Vroomen-de Rooij, Aafke van Pelt and Beau Kremers, grew out of a shared passion for theater and a self-taught approach. For their new production, Uitzicht op Keizer Karel, directed by Grace, the company received the Groeispurt. The performance sharply and humorously portrays the housing crisis among students and starters. The performance follows three friends from Nijmegen who struggle with sky-high student debts, an unstable job market and unreasonable landlords. Using the mysterious Bicycle Thief as a symbol of this generation's insecurities, the play underscores the need for a stable living environment and fair opportunities for young people.
