Workshop - Marketing for creators

Learn how to put yourself and your work out into the world confidently, in a way that suits you.

As a maker, artist or performer, you know how important your work is, but how do you make sure others see that too? How do you market yourself without feeling like you're drifting very far from your own makerhood? And how do you make sure your work is seen without feeling like something you "have" to do? In this workshop you will discover how to use marketing and communication in a way that suits you and your work.

For whom

This workshop is suitable for anyone who works as a creator, artist or creative and wants to promote their work. Not quite sure yet who your audience or target group is? See if the workshop 'Know your audience' can help you with this.

After the workshop:

  • Know what communication tools you can use to get your work out;
  • Have a clear idea of how to communicate about your work in a way that suits you without losing your own creativity;
  • Are you inspired to see marketing not as a "should" but as an opportunity to use your creativity in communicating your work.

Program

Marketing and communication for creators is very different from marketing from within an organization, institution or event. It often feels like something that belongs, but not always an extension of who you are. This can cause frustration, especially if you don't experience it as a creative process.

This can be different! In this workshop you will be inspired and challenged to both stay close to yourself and become creative in your communication. There is also plenty of room for practical tools, tips and tricks. We will discuss several cases and examples, so that you go home with concrete ideas that you can apply immediately.

At the end of the evening you are not an accomplished marketer, but you do have the tools and inspiration to communicate yourself and your work with more fun and creativity.
