Are you working on a new project and want to apply for a grant, but find that many funds only provide grants to foundations? You can collaborate with an existing foundation, or you can set up your own! A foundation not only offers grant advantages, but also a clear structure for pursuing social goals without personal financial risks. Moreover, it is a flexible legal form with tax advantages, low start-up capital, and a simple procedure for articles of association and registration with the Chamber of Commerce. In this workshop, you will gain a clear understanding of how a foundation works, what steps and costs are involved, and whether this form suits your project or organization.

This workshop is intended for creators, (project) leaders, or cultural entrepreneurs who want to professionalize their organization and set it up properly from a legal perspective. Whether you want to start a foundation yourself or are involved in its management, this workshop will help you acquire the necessary knowledge and practical tools.

Program
In this workshop, you will learn everything about the legal and practical aspects of setting up a foundation. The trainer will guide you step by step and cover all the important topics, such as the articles of association and their function, the costs and benefits of a foundation, putting together a good board of directors or supervisory board, and your responsibilities as a founder. At the end of the workshop, you will have a concrete step-by-step plan so that you can get started right away.
About the trainer
Djoeke Gerding is an advisor on governance and supervision at Cultuur+Ondernemen. In her role, she supports cultural organizations with various issues: from preventing conflicts of interest within the board to drawing up clear profiles for supervisory boards.
