Mentoring program 2024-2025 launched
Cultuur Academy 's Mentorship Program has launched! Nine promising creators have been given the unique opportunity to further professionalize themselves over a period of eight months.
Elke derde dinsdag van de maand – van oktober 2024 tot en met mei 2025 – komen zij samen om kennis en ervaringen uit te wisselen. Intervisiesessies en praktische workshops staan centraal, met onderwerpen als het bepalen van tarieven, ontdekken van onderscheidend vermogen, efficiënt werken en het behalen van doelen.
Naast de groepsactiviteiten krijgt elke deelnemer een persoonlijke mentor uit zijn of haar discipline. Deze mentoren, met jarenlange ervaring in een florerende beroepspraktijk, begeleiden de deelnemers bij het vinden van antwoorden op hun ontwikkelvragen en ondersteunen hen in hun makerschap.
De deelnemers van dit jaar zijn Yip Stals, Zola Westerhof, Edo Stolk, Amber van den Heuvel, Godelieve Meijers, Baz Laarakkers, Rhodé Visser, Jente Poiësz en Annelieke Holland. Samen vormen zij een inspirerende groep die tijdens de eerste sessies al enthousiast van start is gegaan. Zo vond onlangs een bijeenkomst plaats bij De Basis, waar gelachen én geleerd werd.

Cultuur Academy supports culture professionals in Arnhem, Nijmegen and the region by offering appropriate programs such as workshops, training courses and long(er) learning paths. We believe that investing in the education and development of the cultural professional makes for a stronger sector. We focus on the non-artistic side of working in the cultural sector, in the subfields: business, organizational, leadership and organizational development.

On Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025, the Mariënburg Chapel in Nijmegen filled up for the sixth edition of Over de Grens, Cultuur Academy's biannual talk show. This time the program focused on values, choices and finding your voice in a complex society. As an artist or organization, how do you deal with outside pressure, criticism or controversy? And where do you draw the line yourself?
Talent development in the region: Cultuur Academy launches Mentoring Program 2026
In January 2026 a new edition of Cultuur Academy's Mentorship Program will start: a year-long program in which ten young makers from Arnhem and Nijmegen will have the opportunity to further develop themselves artistically and professionally. Musicians, actors, visual artists, dancers, designers, filmmakers and interdisciplinary makers can apply until November 16, 2025.
