Maaike Kool has a broad background in the cultural sector, dating back to her studies in history. She has held a variety of roles—from museum director to project manager, from castle manager to fundraiser—and as a result, she possesses both in-depth knowledge and a strong network. If there’s something she doesn’t know, she almost always knows someone who does. As a freelancer, she currently works for various clients, including Cultuur Academy.

What drives her is the impact of history, art, and heritage on who we are—and even on our health. After all, our bodies are living archives. She is also deeply committed to talent development and to young people and volunteers who are dedicated to culture and heritage. That passion also shapes her work as a fundraiser, where she enjoys helping to make wonderful projects and collaborations a reality.
